This week, God has been leading me to speak about motivation and what could be affecting our motivation in ministry. One of the key points covered in this episode of the Ministers in the Marketplace podcast, is how motivation can be impacted by a lack of spiritual discipline.
When we operate in ministry, certain spiritual practices are required to continue to combat principalities and powers. These practices include spending time with God's word, praying, and fasting. Incorporating these disciplines into our daily routine is essential for strengthening our spirit and fighting against spiritual adversaries.
In Matthew 17:21, it says that some challenges cannot be overcome without prayer and fasting. Therefore, the lack of motivation may stem from insufficient spiritual discipline in our personal lives and ministries. By making prayer and fasting a regular part of our lives, we equip ourselves with the tools needed to overcome the enemy and stay motivated.
Sometimes, we attempt to address spiritual battles on a natural level, which is ineffective. We must remember that our struggles are not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces. Establishing spiritual disciplines enables us to deal with these challenges more effectively.
Today's episode encourages you to develop a routine of spiritual discipline to strengthen your relationship with the Lord and overcome whatever is affecting your motivation. By doing so, you prevent the enemy from hindering your progress and joy in ministry.
Remember, as believers, we need to invite God into our lives and allow Him to guide us. Romans 12:2 instructs us to renew our minds daily. By filtering the information we receive through God's wisdom, we enable Him to work in us and through us.
As I conclude this episode and series on motivation, I urge you to incorporate spiritual discipline into your life. Doing so will protect your motivation, peace, joy, and productivity, allowing you to fulfil the vision and plan God has for you.
